Purpose of VerSpecify

VerSpecify is an AI-assisted preliminary document-comparison tool. It may extract and compare text, tables, product properties, references, and other information from construction specifications, submittals, and related documents to identify potential discrepancies for human review.

Important limitations

  • AI and document extraction can misread, omit, invent, misclassify, or misunderstand information.
  • A result depends on the completeness, quality, hierarchy, and current version of documents provided.
  • The Service may not detect conflicts contained in drawings, addenda, RFIs, codes, standards, product listings, substitutions, or documents that were not uploaded.
  • A cited page shows the basis for an automated result; it does not prove that the result is correct.
  • "Compliant," "match," "pass," or similar language is not professional approval, certification, or a guarantee.

Human verification is required

Every finding must be independently verified by qualified project personnel against the full governing contract documents. Formal review and approval remain with the architect, engineer, owner, contractor, authority having jurisdiction, manufacturer, or other responsible professional. Users must not rely on VerSpecify alone to purchase, fabricate, substitute, install, reject, approve, pay for, schedule, or proceed with construction work.

No professional relationship

Use of VerSpecify does not create an architect-client, engineer-client, contractor-client, attorney-client, fiduciary, or other professional relationship with VerSpecify.
